A tea cup nearly took my nose off at Zonko's, but then the prettiest little witches walked by. I'm sure I saved myself a few galleons, Zonko's usually does a good job of emptying my pockets before I even make it to the Three Broomsticks. Didn't have any problem making it to the pub this time, though -- all the girls were headed in that direction.

Out drank Remus and Peter. Again. Usually James offers some kind of decent competition, but you know, he must have been too busy with Lily -- I mean -- too busy being Head Boy and all. It's a real tough job, I hear.

I managed to snatch Snivelly's notes the other night. Gave them to Moony yesterday. I'm still not sure what he thinks about the wolfsbane, but he knows I don't like it. James still doesn't have a clue, but as long as he's more concerned being Head Arse, he doesn't need to.

I don't know what he was thinking, taking those points from Gryffindor.
Honestly, like I care.

You know, all those barbs aimed at my masculinity might just go to show that even the most macho and openly chauvinistic members of Gryffindor House might be a little insecure...I wonder what would happen if I made a pass at you eh? wink wink, nudge nudge. Besides, darling, the amount of time you spend with those three boys...I wonder. Goodnight dear wanker. Try not to think to hard nor to mess up your sheets too badly tonight. Tips hat.

Hah. If I were to approach you, to be your friend (this is where you refrain from using a casual insult to my sexual orientation- I assure you I am quite straight), I wonder if you'd be able to. I don't think you would, and that's really a shame. But then I don't think I would either, so it's really a shame.

Well, we never exchanged open hostilities. And I wasn't implying anything- if I was it was as much about me as it was about you. I'm sorry Black, I'm trying find out where I belong and it's hard, and your brother is doing the same thing, and aren't we all. And I really don't know why I'm talking to you about it, because it was all cut and dry for you, wasn't it? Some of us can't just toss away our families (though Merlin knows we'd be tempted). You were lucky. Congratulations. I'll stop talking to you then. It's better if the Houses keep to themselves. Though I do think we should have a big group unbunching of our panties before the isolationism- especially you and Potter. The tension is unbearable.

My name isn't Black and I don't need to hear about Regulus from you, or anyone else. If he wants to keep me updated, he can do it himself. I'm quite aware of what he's going through, thank you.

To assume that I took the easy way out would be a mistake, but most of you are too thick to see that, aren't you? What makes you think my life is any easier than yours, or my brother's?

Your name will always be Black, no matter how much you disagree with your family. Try and make something good of the name if its current situation doesn't suit you.
To assume that simply because I'm trying to be a decent human being I'm mental is simply unkind. I am not insulting you, I am not even goading you. Regulus is my friend and I think we should all grow up and attempt some sort...dialogue, I don't know, because if we don't something horrible is going to happen. It isn't about you. It's bigger than that. But I'm not entirely sure that what I'm doing serves ANY PURPOSE WHASTOEVER because every time I open my mouth you assume that I'm trying to be horrible. Or whatever you assume. And yes, I might just be mental.
But you are lucky, you should know that. You don't seem to need the pureblood support group. I can't do without them. Narcissa can't, Reggie can't, you can. That's lucky. You know what else? Huffs are lucky bastards, the whole lot of them.

You're right about one thing, I don't need them. I don't need anyone. That has absolutely nothing to do with luck, it's called making a living for yourself.

You don't know what my life is like -- you have no concept of luck and I, so don't even try to make sense of it.
