Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend  Next Entry

Between Remus and his folks, I've already gotten all my books, supplies, robes, everything. A little more productive than I'm used to being, I'll say, but it looks like Rem's been nothing but good for me. I wonder if James has even left his room yet.

Oi! James, we need to get our hands dirty before our friend here forces me to repent. What a bloody mess that would be.

Speaking of messes, I had a few lasses approach me on the subject of chauvinism. You said it, Skita Reeter. If you have a problem with my upbringing, you can take it straight to the front doorstep of your most respectable House of Black. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

Heaven forbid you should be prepared for school to start. I still say it would be a novel experience for you, and you should try it just once in your life before you die.

Pay no attention to the Skeeter. I know you're a chauvanist, and I'm still your friend.

Mostly because once young ladies realize what an utter slob you are, it makes me look like a very stable alternative.

(KIDDING, of course.)

Oh, Remus, that hurts. Besides, you know they like a little bit of cheek. Of which I'm sorry to say you have none, and James simply just doesn't know how to use his properly. Don't worry.

There's hope for you yet, chap! We'll just... well, we'll see.

KIDDING, I mean.

Oh, rubbish. It's that kind of attitude that allows Skeeter to spread wild rumors about male chauvinism.

I am not entirely certain of the Sirius definition of 'cheek', but if it means 'snog-'em-and-leave-'em', I'm fairly certain that I don't have it.

At least I can fend for myself in the kitchen -- and I know that gals are for more than just sitting around and looking pretty.

If you and Rita think I'm so bloody terrible to women, then why don't you ask them yourself?

Did I ever say you were terrible to women? You're fairly respectful, you're not abusive, and I've never known you to deliberately toy with a girl's feelings. I'm TEASING you, you big mutt. I told you, Rita takes a grain of truth -- in this case, the fact that you have no desire to commit to a single girl, which is understandable, as you're only seventeen -- and twists it into something awful.

And I resent that kitchen crack. My mother thinks you're a bleeding angel, I hope you know.

One day Rita will have worse things to worry about than the truth catching up to her. She can mark my words.

... Honestly, now? Does your mother really? Well, I can't say I blame her.

Oh, hush. You know perfectly well my mother thinks you're a saint who needs a haircut. And if that's not bad enough, my father thinks you're a 'good influence' on me. Probably all that Quidditch.

Don't get a big head, though, they think the same about James and Peter. Except for the haircut part, of course.

I've gotten so much more action than you, it's not even funny.

Still bloody bored mate, and I HAVE left my room thank you. Parents and I had a death annivarsary to celebrate. Great fun, you and Remus really missed out.

Anyway, I'm getting supplies on Monday. Waste of a day if you tell me, so you or Remus better apparate out there and keep me the sod company, cause I've still heard nothing from Pettigrew, and even if I did, he's probably gotten his supplies as well.

You know we'll meet you there. If you're too bored without me, James, I'm sure Rem wouldn't mind letting you pop on over for a night or two.

Have you seen the new issue of brooms?

You've gotten it all already? I used to wait until the day before, at most.

You haven't been made Prefect or anything, have you?
